Review

People, for God's sake, could someone write a review for this film (to see 9,6 start out of 10 without any explanation is just teasing)? Seems like it was broadcasted in the UK very recently, so please, be so kind towards us, outsiders (I mean those who's not living in UK) and find some time to share what you saw and how you liked it. With my most sincere gratitute to this first brave person,
fan of Colin Firth.

I'm a bit of a newcomer to Pinter and the documentray that followed was very illuminating. Pinter's view that most conversation is about standing your ground made me realise that this is the key to enjoying his work.

Celebration was very caustic and the whole thing reminded of Pete and Dud's Derek and Clive (Colin Firth even sounded a bit like them). This is not a bad thing.

it seems that all actors are prepared to rase their game for Pinter and to see the likes of Penelope Wilton, Micahel Goambon etc made the whole play even more compelling.

Was able to see it tonight thanks to a kind UK friend who recorded it for me.

Colin's character was cocky on the outside, but doubtful and suspicious on the inside. The character of his wife Suki - a sly delight. Wonderful how she managed to get in her digs at him, smiling brightly all along.

Stephen Rea as the waiter was a one-man Greek chorus, somberly butting in and out of conversations. You couldn't afford to miss a word of this very concise 40-minute play.

You know, I read Pinter's play some time ago and the words on the page were witty and sardonic, but the ensemble cast truly brought it to sparkling life. I am most grateful to have seen it and I plan to watch it again tomorrow!

9.6 out of 10, truly deserved in this case.
