What was with the bizarre super-fast clips for supporting nominees?!

It really annoyed me that the clips for the Best Supporting Actor & Best Supporting Actress nominees were so fast - as if they were really trying to make the supporting nominees feel inferior to the leading nominees, who had longer, juicier clips of acting shown when their names were read out.

The most bizarre has to be the clip shown for Abigail Breslin in Little Miss Sunshine - just a three second shot of her screaming in excitement when Toni Collette is on the telephone?! I, and probably everyone who saw Little Miss Sunshine, expected them to show Breslin's remarkable scene where she asks Alan Arkin if he thinks she's pretty, right?!

In the past, clips shown for the supporting nominees have always been as good as the leading nominees, and I think this should be rectified at next year's Oscar ceremony.

The super-fast clips were for one reason, this year's motif was movie quotes, so in the acting awards they put briefs quotes from the nominated performances.
