Collateral...frame to frame+cheesy songs..

This is a complete copy of Collateral. Not only the screenplay but frame to frame except the end...in which all are teleported to the Westside mall, Mumbai from Dubai..its better to watch Collateral again cause this movie doesnt have the style..

When i read "silverstar325's" comment on THE KILLER i thought it have to be a rip-off from Collateral....

Ok, the only "THE KILLER" you have to see is John Woo's Masterpiece
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0097202/

There you have a really GOOD movie :=))

If you don't like Indian movies, don't watch one's that are remakes of American films. Honestly I didn't like Collateral that much, but The Killer, being an indian movie has romance, comedy, and thrills, not to mention music...I found The Killer as a whole was a much better experience than the overrated, boring Collateral.

By a strange coincidence last week watched Collateral for the very first time. I had heard alot about this film and thought it was great. The acting, the dialogue, the characters and the superb direction came together to forge an amazing film.

This week I happened to obtain 'The Killer' and what can I say. As the previous posters have already said it's a total rip-off. Scenes are blatantly lifted from the original in this lame, uninspired film where the second rate acting is abysmal, interspersed with needless songs and dodgy direction. At times its laughable...it should be billed as a comedy because it's so terrible. Why oh why do the Bhatt's keep lifting hollywood films? Do they think the audiences are stupid? I hope these directors who lift these films do get sued one of these days, because they are lazy filmmakers, lacking any original ideas or creativity.

The person said they didn't like COLLATERAL, so you didn't have to call them a name. I mean, I liked COLLATERAL, and Jamie Foxx was great as usual--plus it was nice to see Cruise play a cold-blooded thug for a change, but, honestly, some parts of the movie did seem dragged out, but it was still good. I've seen enough Bollywood films over the years to know that not ALL of them are ripoffs of American films, particularly the ones that are more about the Indian culture in general. For some good Bollywood films that ain't ripoffs, check out SATYA,COMPANY, and D:UNDERWORLD BADSHAH, as well as CALCUTTA EXPRESS and two recent ones: an action drama titled RAM GOPAL VARMA KI AAG, and a good drama called HALLA BOL (both featuring my fave lead actor Ajay Devgan, who is something like Bollywood's answer to Denzel.)

I figured out right away that THE KILLER was a COLLATERAL ripoff, but I actually like what I've seen of it so far---it's always interesting to watch how different stories are retold in different cultures from different perspectives. Plus Irfan Khan (whom I just saw in THE NAMESAKE, and in another film where he played a warrior) ) just looked fine as hell and like a smooth, cool badass in his suit, so the film gets at least one prop from me for that alone.

I wouldn't mind watching this remake just to see what it's like. But since there are songs in it I think I'll pass. Why do Bollywood movies have singing and dancing in all of their movies? Dramas and action alike seem to have singing and dancing in them. Do the Bollywood horror films include singing too?

reply

Virtually ALL Bollywood films have the singing/dancing scenes (which I think are great, especially with the hip-hop-influenced Indian dancing styles) but interestingly enough, the few Bollywood horror flicks I've managed to get my hands on didn't seem to have any dancing scenes. I just fast forward through a dancing scene if I want to get on with the story, but if it's a great dancing sequence with some cool-ass music, I don't mind sitting through them half the time. The reason they exist is because that's what Bollywood audiences have always liked in their films. Check some Bollywood sites for more info.
