Game player?

Do have to play video games to watch Zelda as well as with Sonic & Captain N? I was only asking 'cause I'd stink at video games

Not really, it's pretty straight forward.

DIC's Legend of Zelda is probably my favorite of the 90s Cartoons because it's so charming. A bunch of Zelda (video game) fans hate it because of Link's portrayal as being a bit obnoxious and a slacker, but "Excuuuuuse me, Princess!" is such a classic. It's really not bad for the time. There really wasn't that much material to use at the time like there is in recent Zelda games. It's mostly an original fantasy cartoon pretty typical of the 80s.

Sonic: There's THREE Sonic Cartoons in the 90s. Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog which is lighthearted and silly and inspired by the Wile E. Coyote vs Roadrunner cartoons. Sonic: The Animated Series (also known as SATAM) was a much more serious cartoon, and Sonic Underground which was like SATAM but had Knuckles (one of the characters from the games) Aside from a couple characters and locations there really isn't anything from the games at all.

Captain N: I'm sure you've heard already. There IS a lot of game stuff here, but the depictions are just so wacky and crazy. Comparing the characters and their originals is like comparing the old Adam West Batman versions with the original comics.

So all together. Not really. But then that's like saying "Should I check out the comics to see the Marvel movies?" I think it's cool you're checking these out despite being very clear that you stink at video games.

Thanks for clarifying me. I am a REALLY big fan of Sonic SATAM; I'm also a strong Sonic/Sally shipper. Now I am crazy for "The Legend of Zelda." I'd watch the three game walkthroughs (http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLuGcnjPo5sV5PpWjL1Ell-YUdbCQr7uT 8) on YouTube and I love the TV series. As for Captain N, I'm now obsessed over that show and Princess Lana was TOTALLY HOT! especially with that slit-to-the-hip skirt and the big, 80's hair with the Pebbles Flintstone pony-tail...this coming out of a woman like me. I also love her beside being beautiful, I thought of her as a beloved daughter too (In Search of the King)...I DO have a mushy side for father/daughter relationships. So overall, I love the three shows I described.

I'm a massive Captain N fan and knew nothing about the games when I started watching it. I got my NES a bit later.

Hehe, I watch Zelda walkthroughs (well, longplays), too.
