The best film ever invented?

This film is stunning, based on one of the best and most classic comics. Did an amazing job of translating the comic to film. I can't say enough about this film. It's hokey and funny and action packed. Stupid people who think their film critics even thought their nor and have never worked in the industry bash this movie because the wanted another noir sin city. Not a dick tracey slapstick action movie. Thanks for reading. Take Care.

at least us "stupid" people know the difference between "they're" and "their".

Seriously? Attack the typo here? How about you stop trolling and have something worth adding here.

I didn't follow these comics but I like the visuals of this film, some of the acting was bad. Frank Miller must not know what to look for when it comes to shooting a good scene.

Frank Miller must not know what to look for when it comes to shooting a good scene.
That's an understatement if I've ever read one.

reply

mikemyerz, how can you defend the OP who called everyone "stupid?" The OP's an idiot and the typos and grammar were glaring.

reply

I really love this film but I agree with the Grammar Nazi. If you're going to sling mud, spell it properly.

reply

Except for the part where the Grammar Nazi doesn't understand capitalization, nor the difference between "we" and "us".

Some of us just wanted a good Spirit movie. We're still waiting.

The failed TV pilot from 1987, starring Sam Jones, is better directed and acted than this cinematic travesty. Though it's not very good, either, at least the TV pilot wasn't painful to watch.

Curious, though, how does one "invent" a film?

I agree the Tv Pilot from back in the day is great. But people dislike this movie and can't explain why? Thanks for your input it's appreciated. The acting is dry and sappy on purpose. It's a rendition of old school 50's cop humour. The mannerism and lines are what they're ment to be. Action amazing, casting amazing, visuals amazing, acting good because it's sappose to be that way. Thanks.

reply

If all film makers used that excuse for poor effort then I guess we could say The Adventures of Pluto Nash sucks on purpose. It's a rendition of squandering money by making poor choices and hiring hack job writers.

I've never watched this movie, but after pondering at all the negative feedback, I no longer have the motivation to do so.

reply

I'll explain why. Because it's hokey, goofy, cheesy and not enjoyable to watch. Look at the Octopus's goons. How can you take that seriously? Not to mention his ridiculous makeup. I've never read the comics and I expected it to be at least in the ball park of the quality of Sin City. It was not even in the same state. In sports they say the camera doesn't lie, well in this case, it's IMDb rating doesn't lie... too much. If it was totally honest the rating would be a 3.

reply

Right! It should've dawned on someone(early on) that they were wasting film and cut there losses.

reply

I disagree that this movie "did an amazing job of translating the comic to film."
I have been a fan of the comic for a long time, and I found this movie to be absolutely horrifying.

reply

Agreed. This was a travesty.
