Brad Bird's animated feature NEEDS TO HAPPEN!

Just watched the very good documentary "The Giant's Dream" from The "Iron Giant: Signature Edition" Blu Ray, and saw that earlier in his career, Bird had done considerable development on what appeared to be a very cool (and respectful) animated feature adaption of Will Eisner's "The Spirit". Seems it was a passion project, and Bird even got to become friendly with Eisner himself in the process -- the whole thing looked so promising and light-years better than the Frank Miller monstrosity. I want to see Bird's version!
