Similarities between Rogue One & Godzilla (2014)?

The visual style and cinematography, easily. Some of the lingering tracking shots in Rogue One reminded me of those in G14. Also, some of the shots during the beach set piece with the AT-AT walkers were reminiscent of some of the monster sequences in Godzilla.

I would say the slow-burn pacing especially in the first act of the film setting things up (people who complain its too slow need to get an attention span)and several scenes showing how big the Death Star, The AT-AT's and the Star Destroyers are when looking up at them from ground level. Edwards has a great eye when depicting a sense of scale in his films.
