What HAPPENED at the end?

Just watched it on Oxygen. When Phil/Dean is lying on the ground dying after being hit with a monkey wrench, what did he whisper to Elise/Tori? Why did he drop the coins in front of her (now most certainly scratched, handled, and "nearly worthless")? Then, one year later when Tori is standing in front of the painting of Phil with her friend and her friend says, "This is the best painting in the show," Elise seems to look fondly at the painting and replies, "I'm just not willing to part with it yet." Why? Overlooking the leaps in the script, what happened in the end?

It was fun seeing Tori and Dean acting together. I enjoyed the scenes the two of them did, even if it didn't all fit neatly.

I was just coming here to post the same thing! I just watched it on Oxygen, and the screen said "One Year Later," and then an informercial came on and they never showed the rest!

He said something about how there was "gold in their eyes" and it seemed to have something to do with the death of the parents, but I have no idea what he was talking about really.

OK here it is: Frank and his brother are a two-headed hydra.
Who killed their parents and who made the other one kill'em is not important.
The coins are a reminder of that. They wanted the girl, disputed and Frank dies. Tori's pothead friend wrenchs the survivor. She paints and exhibits her
art one year later.

Very good synopsis! Okay, so basically the "one year later" thing was not real significant, just a quick epilogue-y thing.
