Elisabeth Shue Has More Screentime Than The Main Character?

I can't see the justification for billing Elisabeth Shue above Sarah Roemer in the cast list on IMDB...

Sarah has more screentime, for sure. Sometimes IMDB disorganize the cast list, that's why Elizabeth Shue is above Sarah Roemer. For example: Before the releasing of Fired Up, Sarah Roemer (who is the main character too) was one of the last of the cast list. When the movie released, IMDB updated the movie page and then Sarah was the above one.

For one thing Elisabeth Shue is an academy award nominated actress with much more name recognition than Sarah Roemer.

Plus, the order of names in a cast list (called "billing order") are usually negotiated when you get an actress like Shue involved. She probably has a clause in her contract defining where her name has to go regardless of screen time (top billing). Very Big Stars may get their names above the title, like: Tom Cruise in "Mission Impossible; Ghost Protocol" or whatever its name is. The billing order is very important even though to us it might seem painfully narcissistic. It has to do - as everything does - with money. The pecking order in Hollywood is taken very seriously. Careers can be made or broken depending upon whether you are getter higher and higher billing or your billing is falling from one film or TV show to the next (never good).
