Support the U.S. release of 'Bigga Than Ben' at IndieGoGo!
The film 'Bigga Than Ben' is getting a U.S. DVD release via IndieGoGo. For 60 days, fans have the opportunity to buy the DVD (Region 1) on the website (www.indiegogo.com/biggathanben), which also offers other products related to the film. The BTB team is distributing the DVD themselves.

A BRIEF HISTORY
We made a film Bigga Than Ben: A Russians' Guide to Ripping Off London, starring BEN BARNES and ANDREI CHADOV. The book rights were optioned from two Russian writers Pavel Tetersky and Sergei Sakin whose aim to rip off the UK system didn't quite go as planned.
Neither did ours. The production elements (apart from having to pay to get out of Russia [twice]) were all fine and we finished on budget with the film being released theatrically in the UK and Russia on 90 screens and doing well on the festival circuit including Edinburgh, Austin (nominated for Best Feature), Cinequest, Brooklyn, Moscow, Los Angeles DIY (WINNER, Best Comedy Feature), Film by the Sea...
With good review and a rising star, we thought the rest would be plain sailing. Then we learned a hard lesson about The Distribution Model. Namely: Theatrical 50%, tax 20% Sales Agent 15%, Distributor X%, where X is never '0' and could be infinitely large.
So, after several considered offers, we've decided to go it alone for North America - hopefully with you by our side - because there has to be a viable, sustainable alternative to the current release model for independent film - one which pays back investors and filmmakers so they can continue making films.
THE FILM
Bigga Than Ben (aka Bigger Than Ben)
A crime-fuelled tale of two likeable but wayward Russian “pieces of Moscow scum” who arrive in London intent on bettering themselves and amassing an easy fortune. But it’s not long before Spiker (Andrei Chadov) and Cobakka (Ben Barnes) realise that, legally, they aren’t going to get very far. So, aided by the dodgy Artash (Ovidiu Matesan), they learn to shoplift from supermarkets, rip off banks, joyride on the tube and turn mobile phones into crack.
INITIAL CAMPAIGN
We're not going for crazy money, just enough to get us started as our credit cards are maxed out and our taxes have increased to top up bankers' bonuses.
The initial aim is to raise both the profile of the film in the US and the money to release in the territory. Hopefully we will also be building a platform for the next film, a sci-fi feature DIVISION 19, which has already been cast.
WHERE THE MONEY GOES
The initial target of $6,190 covers Distribber costs ($1295 + $395), Publicity & Marketing ($1,100), some travel costs ($400), packaging in the US ($1,000) and some patient musicians - you know who you are ($2,000).
