Is it true they burnt her genitals?

The content advisory section mentions this, is that really in this movie?

reply

Yes, Ruth (the mother) uses a blow torch to destroy her clitoris. They don't actually "show it", you can just see that Meg has her legs spread while Ruth is about to burn her, than they cut away and you can hear her muffled screams

reply

In the movie, not in real life.

They made up all sorts of sexually sadistic moments for this "movie." Guess why? It's an exploitation flick. End of story.

reply

Well, Sylvia Likens did get her clitoris cut off.

reply

Poor girl:(

They believe that was due to the numerous times Gertie kicked her in the crotch and the bottle rapes.

reply

Please show me where, ANYWHERE, it says this. Her vagina was severely swollen yes, most likely due to repeated kicks in that region and the constant insertions of bottles. Her clitoris actually being cut off? That did NOT happen.

Again, it's something that happens every single day. Some cultures remove a girls clitoris right after puberty. It's still being done because they do it under the guise of a 'religious practice'. They call it 'female circumcision', to make it sound like the removal of the male forskin, but instead, it's like removing the entire penis. Still being done in the good old U.S.A.. The reason they give for doing it is, that their religion says that women should not be tempted to have sex for any other reason than having children, and by removing the organ for pleasure, this helps the woman resist temptation.

The real-life Sylvia did not have her genitals burned. According to court testimony which you can read online, she was raped with a bottle more than once. This was witnessed by children.
