I actually liked the movies (except the fact that the boy didn't tell anyone or did it when the time wasn't right), but I think I will like "An American Crime" more - will watch it later.
One thing bugged me though, why did Ruth put the words "I [F * * k]. [F * * k] Me" on the girls stomach, after what Ruth said? It doesn't make any sense in the context.

I understand why she DID it, the only thing I don't get it what the words mean.
Sure Ruth is an insane person, but she talks 'normally' and then that message.
In AAC it made total sense, since it was something different (and grammatically correct).
Oh, and I just finished watching "An American Crime" and I must say that I didn't like it as much as TGND. Not (just) because they've shown the vicious acts, but I simply enjoyed the other more - how the movies were told, but not because the other one added/changed facts.
And I have no complaints to make about the acting in TGND, but in AAC there were some actors I couldn't 'belive'.

The message the words send is "I'll have sex with anyone." As best as I can guess. I assume she figures that any man Meg might intend to be intimate with will be disgusted when he sees it; if it's her wedding night, her husband will demand an annulment. No "decent" man will want her.
shareI think it was just her being vulgar but not too clever about it. Just aggressive vulgarity sort of, its not poetic or anything.
