Kind of lifetime movie-ish. Was very honest. I couldn't believe how those women in the fat group treated the main character just for wanting to walk. And how rude they were to the skinny girl.

Yea, it was ironic. Many were there wanting to change the world to end the disrespect/disregard they have experienced, but then they turn around and perpetrate the same actions they hate. Many claimed they wanted acceptance and respect, but then they disrespect two girls right there. Seemed very hypocritical.

That's the point. They were supposed to look hypocritical. It's a comment on the fat acceptance groups that are like that. That's why Lydia ends up starting her own, less exclusive group in the end.
