Worst Bond movie ever

Movie is just so sub par for a bond movie, no wonder rating is so low!
barf! and I usually love Bond movies.

reply

I like it.

And its rating is the same or higher than several Bond films.

What no man Can give ya. And none Can take away.

reply

It's not like there's been a good Bond film since Golden Eye so what's the difference here?

reply

The film is called GOLDENEYE not GOLDEN EYE. The clue is in the opening credits.

reply

Indeed. By far the worst.

Simply put, yes it is that bad! Everything from the opening Bond theme, to a boring plot, unforgettable villains and a poorly shot and confusing scenes it is awful!

Firstly why was the gun barrel not included at the beginning? There was no reason why it was not included. Not having it at the beginning of Casino Royale was fine cos it was Bond becoming Bond, so it definitely should have been included at the start here!

Next, when Mr White is being interrogated. This scene is so badly shot and edited. Me like many others thought that on first viewing M had been killed. It's not clear what's happening at all. You literally have to put it in slow motion to be able to follow what is going on... It's even worse when they intertwine this with shots of some horse race... Also why would M be in Italy interrogating Mr White in person, she should be in London! Granted, the following fight was not too bad.

Also MI6 looks awful in this film.

Dominic Greene and Elvis are the worst villain and henchmen ever. They are so bland and boring! Not only do they have no character, but they don't really seem like a challenge or threat, which is really evident at the end of the film!
General Medrano could have been good, but the way he is set up and that part of the story of Camille was handled with poorly. Had we heard all of the things

General Medrano done to Camille and built some rapport with the character then their confrontation near the ending of the film would be more significant. But instead they meet at the very start at it is meaningless to us as we don't know about her past! Mr White is the only interesting villain, but he's barely in it!

The Bolivia green party scene is a complete mess! It should be a simple scene to film, but it's so random and poorly shot. Half the shots are spent on just random people with straight bland faces not reacting to anything! Also random people are just put in the scene for no reason. Felix appears in a random shot for no apparent reason and for about 2 seconds. He also appears in another shot in this scene for another second, there was no point for him being here. And what's up with Elvis falling down the stairs and having his hair fall off?

The next scene is so stupid as well, Bond tells Camille that they are going to be sold out, why did Bond not just take him out or prevent him from contacting Greene?

M also appears again and is not in London and Miss Fields is killed with oil... I wonder who thought of that... Also M's change of opinion of Bond when escapes is so random

The final action scene isn't too bad, but the fight between Bond and Greene wasn't believable mainly cos of the villain! It wasn't believable that Greene could match or even hurt Bond in anyway! Also the tension with the confrontation of Camille and General Medrano ruined it. We know that Camille has General Medrano at gun point, so when Bond rushes to see what happens when hearing the gun shot it has no affect as we already know that Camille had the gun and she was certainly not going to die.

Then the gun barrel at the end... It wasn't very good gun barrel sequence anyway

It was just a poorly shot film with a boring set of villains who was completely useless and a poorly written plot/story! The director would have improved the film, but the only good parts to me were Craig, Camille's and Christensen good performances! But Bond was definitely not back, like they made it seem to be at the end of Casino Royale! Had the story been improved, they got a better director, had a decent villain and henchmen and had they not tried to make this a direct sequel to Casino Royale then it could/would have been better. But that's not what happened and would require a lot of changes!

Without any doubt, this is the worst Bond film!

Also personally, the worst part is when Bond asks if Mathis is his cover name is the worst part, NO THE CODE NAME THEORY IS NOT TRUE!!!

reply

The film is indeed abysmal and the editing is ludicrous, so bad in fact that many viewers have complained that they are unable to tell whether one female character was wearing underwear or not despite the fact that the camera was practically up her skirt.

How is Moonraker better than this one?

Hitler! C'mon, I'll buy you a glass of lemonade.

reply

Verily I say unto thee...because anything ever made is better than this one.

reply

False

Hitler! C'mon, I'll buy you a glass of lemonade.

reply

Not even close. Spectre, OHMSS, Die Another Day, Octopussy, The Living Daylights and License to Kill.

reply

LOL. Imagine putting Moonraker - one of the all time great defining Bond films - anywhere near this utter dross...

reply

YES! I could not believe they let this escape, poor!!!

reply

Die Another Day, Moonraker, The Man with the Golden Gun, and Diamonds are Forever are all worse, in my opinion.
