ONLY 3 EPISODES ?

WTF ?
A Show needs at least a Season containing 15-24Episodes
Is This Series worth watching ?

reply

Yes. Very addictive. But the ending is kind of sudden and doesn't answer all the questions. But the rest of the mini-series is brilliant, so try and watch it one day.

More episodes would've been great, but as has been said, it was a mini-series. SciFi is airing it the next three nights, or check out the DVD. It's definitely worth watching.

Tho it is dark . . . know our flag . . . is still there.

Worth watching my husband says, he is visiting his sister and now they want to know when the rest of the series will arrive.. neither will be happy when I tell them there are no additional episodes to watch. FYI, got the three episodes off netflix.

reply

"Visiting his sister", yeah... Uhu.

People who don't like their beliefs being laughed at shouldn't have such funny beliefs

reply

Definitely not worth watching. Waste of time. Horrible series. Horrible plot (or lack thereof) and absolutely horrible acting!

reply

you suck at this.

The DVD version I have just seen in the UK splits it into 6 episodes over 2 discs, ie:

Disc 1:
1. The Key
2. The Clock
3. The Comb
4. The Box

I assume Disc 2 will have The Eye and The Prime Object

Interesting so far, but not the most well acted thing I have ever seen. Despite that, I am enjoying it.

I think they could carry this on forever, rather like Lost, given that we already know there could be 100+ objects.

I just started watching disc 2 after having seen disc 4 weeks ago. I came here for a recap which doesn't appear to have one. Now I read 3 episodes only? very confusing on what is going on with this series

reply

I totally agree with you! It seemed like the ending was left open ended for perhaps a series, but that never happened. Three episodes was not enough for this story and I felt that it ended rather abruptly. If this became a series, I would definitely tune in.

I just think of mini-series as movies. Why do Americans always demand that shows have as much as 20 episodes per season? What's the point in filling a season with random episodes when you can just concentrate on the most crucial plot line?

reply

This wasn't meant to be a TV show. As it has been stated before, this was a mini series. Just look at it as if it's a long movie split into three parts. Sci-fi and many other stations have done this with other stories as well. The remake of The Shining, Gulliver’s Travels, and The Odyssey...the list goes on.

It was odd for me to find this post. I’ve never once thought of this as a TV show. The commercials were very clear that it was a mini series.

It was a back-door pilot. That is, it was a standalone miniseries that would have started an ongoing series if the ratings had been good.

This debate just keeps going on and on. A several season series would be pointless. The show gave a clear goal ( to find joe's daughter) and they did that with joe throwing his key into the room so the objects could never bother them again. To make the show a direct series would just be stupid, deciding to place yourself around more objects after all they've done. Alternatively if the entire 20 something episode series was based on finding his daughter, the storyline would've gotten too convoluted and the introduction of too many objects and their story's would've detracted from the main story. So really it was perfect as a 3 part mini series (3 90 minutes episodes or 6 40 min ones)

No, it wasn't. It was a mini-series.
It was never meant to be anything more than that.

And that is perfectly ok. If it was a long series, it would probably become boring and bad... as it happened to "Lost" after the first season.

reply

Amen to that.

The way "The Lost Room" ends is the way to go.

"Lost" just became weird, and the end was such an anti-climax. I had this urge which involved locating J.J. Abrams and slapping him around for a number of hours matching the time I spent watching "Lost".

Actually, the creators have been meaning to continue the series as a comic book. I have no problem with the way the mini-series ended, however the mythology and the world that was established leaves a lot to be explored.

I was confused because the place I watch TV shows online showed 3 - 42 minutes episodes and episode 3 ended when joe found the real "Motel" but then I discovered that it's not 3 - hour long episodes but 3 - 2 hour long episodes and online streaming it showing them broken down into 6 episodes.

I was able to find the last 3 episodes on YouTube, all full length episodes.

Actually, I think the entire mini series is available on YouTube. How it hasn't been taken down yet I don't know but it's up there.
