Pune is in western India...about 1500 miles from Pakistan

It was shot in a city called Pune (Western India)

The unit was in the city for about a month.. (including Brad)
They shot all the scenes of the bungalow in Pune, and also some other scenes. A few scenes were shot in Mumbai.

I know all this coz, I live in Pune, and the location was around 20 miles from my home. So, local newspapers (and even national ones for that matter!) had all the stories in detail everyday.

this was also shot in Karachi AND Islamabad (Both are cities of Pakistan), not just India

I agree, I used to live in Karachi and yes most of outdoor scenes were shot in Karachi and some in Rawalpindi/ Islamabad. Indoor scenes were shot in India.

Actually many scenes were shot in Karachi, since you can see rickshaws with Urdu writing all over them (which happen to be the very symbol of Karachi). The busy market-place shown constantly is in Karachi and is called Sadder.

hahaha.... i am sorry but the Rick that you mentioned... well that shot is again in Pune.. Writings in Urdu must be as you said the very symbol of Pakistan.. but we have writings in Urdu in India as well.. n that was one of those.. While some shots like the main road was done in Pakistan... most of the film was shot in India as it was deemed unsafe after a point for the crew to stay and shoot in Pakistan.

Dude! Read first before replying...He didn't said writing in Urdu is the symbol of Pakistan...He said, the Rickshaws had urdu shaiyri written on it, which is the symbol of Karachi...
