I just bought this DVD off of Amazon and thoroughly enjoyed it. It ranks right up there with Boggy Creek and Sasquatch - The Legend of Bigfoot as one of my favorites. As many people have commented, it really captured the feel of those movies during the 70's Bigfoot craze. My question however is what illness did Dales wife actually have??? Did they ever mention it in the movie? Anyway, thanks Justin and Duane for the fun movie to add to my collection!
I read in an interview with the co-directors somewhere that Jean had a stroke when Dale was still in his 30's. If my memory is correct that is - but I also do remember a line in the film referred to her as being "stroked out." I had asked the directors once how Mario's deviance made it into the movie if it wasn't in Dale's journals, and it was pointed out that in Dale's writings it was more of a "suspicion" than a known fact - but they worked it into the script.
