where's the baby?! (spoilers)

so, this movie does a pretty good job of tying up its loose ends during the final scenes. priestley drops the punk schtick and gets with tish, jen meets her hott cyberbuddy, trucker and zoe get hitched.. however, that part about piper's baby sort of left me wanting more. i mean, the whole reason she came to that town (better yet, the basic goal of her character) was to find her baby, which she ultimately didn't. although she's found a new, quite older beau and can take care of that little girl she likes, the question remains.. what happened to her kid? this begs the question, do we need a ten inch hero 2?! (ATTN: David Mackay/Betsy Morris, et al.!)
also, did anyone else think that scene with the pan flute band was kinda funny?

Her new older beau is the adoptive father of her child, which is Julia, the girl Piper tutors and babysits.

Never mind, I forgot the scene on the steps where they had the discussion about post partem depression.

Actually he's not. If I remember correctly, his wife left them due to PPD. Piper convinced herself that Julia was her biological daughter but it turned out she wasn't.
