movie sponsored by a tobacco company?

the sheer amount of smoking in this made me choke.

reply

i thought it was actually ... refreshing, you never see anybody smoking in movies anymore, even in bar and club scenes.

STOP!Hammertime.

reply

it just looked really false because they portrayed virtually everyone as smoking where in real life very few people now smoke.

reply

actually more people smoke than you think.

the world has just made it a task to enjoy smoking so a lot of people dont smoke until they are at home or something.

People hate on you sooo much for smoking. Thats our world now though. Its a competition as to who is the most PURE. even though 99% of people have some kind of disgusting habit 100x worse than smoking.

reply

yea i liked the smoking

I love Rosario Dawson, Rae Dawn Chong, Sage Steele, Jordin Sparks and Corinne Bailey Rae

reply

yeah, coz people don't smoke in real life...jesus...

reply

Here's a lil' truism for ya:
When you're a smoker, almost EVERYONE around you smokes. When you're not a smoker, almost NO ONE around you smokes.
Weird but true.

Are you talkin' to me?

Even though I liked the movie I didn't like the sheer volume of smoke in the movie!

"I don't love you enough to hate you!!"

I just saw this today. Whew, I thought this had to be product placement. It was too much! No offense but it was nasty....

reply

no need to say no offense...it was pretty blech! almost ruined it for me...

reply

Didn't bother me. There are still a lot of people who smoke - just go to any office building or factory/plant. Or, at least outside of them in the designated smoking area - lol! I think the point of both him and Catherine smoking was to show that he found his ideal woman - quirky, biracial (taking the white woman v/s black woman thing off the table because she was both, but also neither at the same time), and a smoker to prove the point that Jay was the problem, not the women he dated.

Even though several states have banned smoking, clubs, bars and juke joints in many places still are hazy from the smoking. It's nice to see that sometimes on film -made the scenes look more authentic.

reply

Agreed. I smoke, but I only ever chain smoke after consuming too many alcoholic beverages.
I couple of people have said its refreshing to see smoking on film - fine, but not the amount that these guys went through.
