Go see it if you have the chance. I caught it at the Chicago Film Festival and my audience loved it. Excellent ensemble cast! It's very talky, but the dialogue is snappy and always interesting.

I also caught the screening at The Paramount theatre in Charlottesville courtesy of the VA Film Festival. It's certainly a more mainstream work from John Sayles after a string of more political films. Though Honeydripper is flawed, its certainly a crowed pleaser, and I found myself overlooking my problems with it rather quickly. Furthermore, its easy to enjoy a film that was so obviously made with love by people who love making movies. (Break out the hanky).

Well, look at it this way, at least we finally HAVE a theater to show it here in Greenville...and don't have to drive to Montgomery to see it!

We will also have a blues event in connection with the local premiere so look forward to some fun, fun fun! As I told one of the choir members last weekend, it should be quite the whing-ding...
