... "Why did this movie get such a bad rap?" Technical-wise... locations, sets, cinematography, costumes, practical effects... it's well above average. I'd even go so far as to say that the DP (Director of Photography for all you film neophytes & perverts out there.) should be brought in on the Dark Tower series... if it ever gets made, that is. And I LOVE!!! the Dark Tower series.

The only real weak point I've seen so far is the dialogue. And that can be excused. Writing good dialogue is HARD. Even Tarantino sucks at it. The main problem with dialogue is that nobody talks like anybody else. Differences in speech can be as minute as which parent you spent more time with.

I haven't read anything in your post but I like 30 minutes into this movie and I have to say that this movie is *beep* awesome completely awesome

This was a wicked cool movie. The only fault is the cheese that comes with a low budget production. Everyone involved clearly put their heart into it, even if they didn't have the skills to quite back it up. Great production.

I hope they never make a dark tower series, cause it just can´t be done.
It is too creepy. Or do you think they´d show us a baby with fangs and boner?
And how would they cast Jake? The same age for around 7 years? Granted that every book gets a season or movie.

Besides my typical "don´t do a dark tower series"-rant, I hated gallowwalkers and as a Dark Tower fan of the first hour, I never thought about Roland and the others watching this piece of shiet

...but they hung him anyway.

LOL! You're a soft touch then.

You forgot to mention the terrible acting from the supports. I admit Wes managed to phone through something resembling a performance. The giggle-inducing costuming of many characters combined with those hilarious looking wigs. The generally inappropriate music score and arguably worst of all in a film of this nature, the poorly choreographed and edited action scenes.🐭
