Is this movie as bad as they say?

I've been kinda interested in this movie. Mainly because it's starting the universal monster universe, but how much does it start it really? Also it's a vampire movie that's not Twilight or that dumb vampire academy movie. So is it?

It's not as bad as they say, it's worse.

Don't take my word for it, try it but prepare to regret the waste of time.

Well if that's the caliber of movies we are to expect from it... hm... ly insomnia will be cured! YAY! 

It's just about as interesting as Twilight really. Boring pointless mess of a movie with terrible action scenes and no script or characters at all.

Its not. Dont listen to the imdb snobs. Watch it for yourself and see.

I love it! But then again, I don't let others tell me what to think.

I think I've watched it 4 times already. It's definitely not for kids.

Well... Its pretty bad.

I expected it to be *beep* But it was better than I expected. It's not going to win any awards but that's expected.

Preferably the movie could be a bit longer so that we could have a bit more character build-up. The whole 3 days concept was the problem.

I thought it was fantastic. It's the coolest vampire movie in years (especially out of all of the Dracula films made in the last decade).

I stayed away from this because of poor ratings but having seen it now, I quite enjoyed it. TBH, it's one of the best vampire films I've seen. Who cares about reality, this is a vampire film, hence fantasy. If people wanted historical truth, they won't find it in a vampire flick. Bram Stoker's Dracula is my favorite vampire film, I love that this was set during that earlier period and frankly, the acting was also good in this.

If there is a sequel, I'll definitely watch it in the theatres now.

I enjoyed it more than I anticipated (6/10). I actually thought the premise was quite good and the first half of the film was very solid. The second half is unfortunately a bit rushed and messy, though Luke Evans remains a consistent bright spot throughout. Nothing about his performance reminds me at all of any of the Draculas we've seen on the big-screen throughout the years, but he's really aiming for the tortured, tragic hero vibe, which he plays pretty damn well. I think the film would have benefited from an extra half-hour and a full R-rating.

Very underrated movie, its super cool!

I enjoyed it the way I enjoyed 300(sparta): I did not expect a history lesson but rather to be entertained by action and vampire scenes. And for that it didn't disappoint.
