6,3 is ridiculously low for this movie

It deserves a much higher score! A straightforward, unpretentious blockbuster with good atmosphere, tragic storyline, lots of passion and strong acting (especially by the protagonist). In fact, the only blockbuster movie that I really enjoyed in years.

La commedia รจ finita!

I just watched it and I couldn't agree more.

I saw the film a second time and it was better than I thought.

reply

Absolutely agreed. It's tragic.

reply

"Unpretentious"? So you like dumb movies?

reply

agree, i dont usually like these types of movies but was impressed. It wasn't amazing but definitely better than what i thought it would be and definitely worth more than 6.3. I'd give it 7.5

6.3 is ridiculously high for this piece of *beep*

reply

Precisely

reply

Ridiculously high. I'd give it about a 1.0. As bad as i-frankenstein.

reply

6.3 isn't even that low. Get over it. This is a bad movie. We all have bad movies that we enjoy.

reply

I gave it a 7/10. I liked the acting and the costume design. I thought that the movie was too short and more dialog was needed. Dominic Cooper and Charles Dance needed more screen time, as they had two of the best characters. I'm still kind of mad that they killed off Mehmed.

I don't think 6.3 is a bad score. It's over the halfway point, so that equates to above-average.

I gave it a 5/10, just average, meaning it had good points and bad points. The performances weren't bad, cinematography was nice, costumes and sets looked good.

OTOH, what started out as concise little story, paced nicely from point A to B to C, really fell apart near the end and became a bit incoherent. Also, the actor portraying his kid was fairly annoying throughout.
