Why such a low rating?

Just wondering why it's only a 6.8 on IMDB, it's one of my favorite Firth movies <3

Don't know the answer to your question but I think it's a great film too. Literally brought tears to my eyes at the end.

I used to want to change the world. Now I just want to leave the room with a little dignity.

To me, the ending was the only good thing about this film. The rest of it was just kind of dull.
I kept wondering if anything would ever get resolved. As the film neared its conclusion, it appeared that nothing would.
But as I said, the ending was really good and the acting was also really good but the majority of the movie just drags on to the point where I was really starting to lose interest.
The ending saved the day...I give it 5/10 stars.

That's how life is gtrz, something's never get resolved. I lost both parents within 10 years of each other with so many questions and no answers from either of them and it took me years to get over and maybe I am still not. The affects of parents last a lifetime which is what this movie is trying to say.

If you can find peace with a parent you resented growing up before they die you are truly blessed, most of us never do.

I think it is low rated because of the average age of posters on here. Most have not lost their parents and parents from post war years were not that easy to get along with. Very little love but we were fed and cared for materially, to a point. Today's parent's coddle their youngsters and they don't do much deep thinking. Wait til they are in their 50's and 60's.

The young posting age keeps me away most of the time. They are rude, abusive and down right negative many times and I hate them for it. Not enough kick in the pants from their parents. My daughter is much better but she is older than them.

I think this is a good movie, but felt that something was missing. Just can't figure out what though.
