In a foot race over a long period

Tyrese would easily outrun john - a little unrealistic that johns character would stay with the bad guy

I agree, but movies have to be unrealistic to some degree.

didn't anyone see him get hit by lequizamo's car??
That's why he couldn't outrun him. plus the fact that leguizamo was determined to get the m.f.

It was too long a foot race. No way does the bad guy get caught in the end. And if I’m the bad guy I’m going after the good guy in the end. The good guy could not shoot him so that gives the bad guy open season on smashing the good guys head. And then there’s the real bad camera work and a cameraman who has parkenson’s.

Why can't the bad guy get caught, he was a big guy and big guys don't usually run for long distances, plus the good guy was running on adrenaline. I would not have put the gun down but, if I did put the gun down and the bad guy came after me, I would would raised the gun and shot the bad guy in self defense and also the cop came up right after that

You only have to keep someone in sight during a foot chase. Adrenalin wears off and they tire much sooner than otherwise.
