Alot of holes....

I really would like to say this was a good film, but it had so many holes in it.
The Doctor that knew what kind of gun his patient was shot with for starters. any one else care to add??
P.S. you would think that the actors with all of thier experience would not stand for these kind of errors in the script, but I guess not.lol
I was in Jr. High D---head!

This movie had a few plot holes but that wasn't necessarily one of them.
It's not too inconceivable that a surgeon in L.A. [who probably gets gunshot victims all the time] would know what type of gun was used. Also he might have received forensics training at some point in his career...again, not too inconceivable.

Congratulations for being the IMBD cliche, the guy who complains about plot holes who actually can't even name one.

AN IMPROBABILITY IS NOT A PLOT HOLE.

is it impossible for a doctor to know a lot about guns? NO. Therefore, you fail.

If you want to talk about plot holes or implausible story lines, lets actually discuss the serious ones. Like how they could be on a two minute call and not get a trace one day, and get a successful trace from a 20 second call the next day. How about the unbelievable chase scene where they manage to run 10 blocks, shoot a bystander AND a cop and still no one manages to mention on the police scanner that John's character is chasing after a black man who is in fact doing the shooting. And thats not even mentioning the terrible choices his character makes in finding his friend shot and touching everything but fleeing the scene like he was guilty (and he already knew the cops were suspecting him from the warrant, don't you think calling 911 would have been a better choice?) How about the numerous times he follows the cars and makes no effort to hide the fact. Or when he just stares at the black guy and eventually decides to run him over, and then doesn't even try to chase after him in his car, no he gets out and starts running with his head wound. Or how about after running 10 blocks neither one is sweating in the least. Yes there were a lot of issues with this movie but the doctor knowing what type of gun was used is the least of its worries.

Its sad because the first 75% of this film was excellent, and it just fell into the ridiculous hollywood ending territory and for me, ruined the overall impression. I have to say though, I am usually annoyed by Rosie Perez's roles, but she played a very strong woman in this film and all of her characters choices were believable it was nice to see her love for her husband but strength in leaving the house after he got violent.

aquala, decent summary

the first plot hole is explained this way

you figure that the second time he calls, from the exact same cell phone, that they already have the number programmed into their tracking/tracing system.

follows logic that it would be easier and faster to pinpoint his location then.
