Don't forget the yelling she does and all the alcohol she drinks. Both of those will damage the vocal cords. By the end of the run of her talk show she will sound like Broderick Crawford.

So she likes wine with dinner and would rather have an extra drink instead of a dessert. So what? Many people are the same way.
As for her voice, I think that in real life she talks just as much/just as loud in real life as she does on the show (yikes) and that's why her voice always sounds like it's dying.
It's not really a "deep" or manly voice, just a stressed voice.

Rachael Ray does not have a drinking problem. Yeah, she has a drink with dinner. Big deal, a lot of people have more than one drink a day. And she definitely does not smoke. A lot of women have low voices. I really don't think hers is that deep. But a high voice is MUCH more annoying. Plus she works ALL the time, and she talks a lot on all her shows. So that probably adds to it.
That ain't no Etch-A-Sketch. This is one doodle that can't be un-did, Homeskillet.
I just think that her voice is exhausted, she has like 17 shows. One being a talk show that almost never reruns, not the alcohol. People are just taking that MADtv skit and running with it, she's not a drunk. She just works a lot, a lot.
