Parmigiano reggiano?

WTF? Why does the audience absolutely lose their sh-t whenever Rachael Ray uses (or say) parmigiano reggiano? I mean, Parmesan is a good cheese but seriously.

Rachael just said "parmigiano reggiano" and a low "oooooooooh" just ran through the audience. Why?

I think they are prompted to applaud like crazy any time she mentions cheese. Why does she only cook comfort foods? What woman over forty uses that much cheese?

reply

You are correct. I went to a taping. There's an MC/comedian off-screen who coaches the audience reactions.

Like EVOO, it's one of her catch phrases.

The food I've liked in my time is American country cookin'-Colonel Sanders 🇺🇸

I know they have their specific uses, but I go 100% with Percorino Romano, a very similar, but much better (and stronger) cheese in every recipe in my opinion.

reply

My husband is an executive chef and does this for the government all around the world. Sorry, Rachael you are an embarrassment to the trade. ENOUGH ABOUT KALE
Stop talking ABOUT being Italian.

reply

She's not a chef. She won't allow anyone to address her as such.

Grana Padano is a touch better....
