Question about Lillian.

I loved this film, I thought it to be a very contemplative look at relationships as well as introspection. Though I feel I need to watch it again in order to grasp everything, but my main question is with Lillian. Soon after Erik has published his book, she storms into his room and calls him cliched.

I'm sure that I missed something, but why does she do this? I know it echoed the section in the beginning when he was struggling with whether or not he should break up with her, but I'm not sure how she came to that conclusion. I know she said it wasn't even about them not seeing each other as frequently as they should have... but yeah, I'm just slightly confused.

Anyway, thanks in advance!

That scene with Lillian was the most the audience sees of her. It might have been the same with Erik. He seemed to count on her understanding that he had to help Phillip instead of visiting her, even told her this outside her apartment building. He also may have used Phillip as an excuse to party. Anyway, perhaps Lillian was watching Erik after all and felt he was lacking.

Yes, you missed the scene, when Eric is at some party, and a blonde girl walks in with a friend, as she sees him, she walks out immediatly...

Eric and Lillian were invited to Lars party, but Eric called Lillian that he want's to check on Phillip. But instead he and his friends go to some party...đ

And i think that made her think how many times did he exactly lied to her like that...used Phillip as an excuse

Ok. I remember that scene, but never thought it was LIllian. Than you so much!

He saw her as a nobody, somebody faceless. It was first when she brooke up with him, that he saw who she really was. It liked that a lot.
