I have watched Reprise, my first norwegian film, and just loved it!I thought it was a very complex and deep story told in a very unique and tumultuous way!I was really impressed about the actors play in the film. They were excellent. I was wondering, cause I'm not from Norway, if they are known by the general public there?
shareIn Norway there are five-six actors and actresses who are in "every film". This film though, none of them, mostly unknown names (at the time). The main girl in the film has become somewhat of a recocnizable face in the media. The actor who plays the sane main character has also done other films, TV and music videos. The actor for the "insane" main character is a professional doctor, and also had a weekly sex column in Norway's second most popular newspaper.
The actor who plays the lead singer in the punk band/ marries the older woman is a very well known comedian/producer. Apart from that, even the actors who play the older roles are relatively unknown to the mainstream audience (lots of theatre actors, I think).
Search for "Max Manus", a new Norwegian film about the world war II. Two of the actors in Reprise play in that one as well.
