It's not that bad!

Am I the only one who liked this movie?
I think it's not that bad. Of course, it's waaay worse than the first movie, but in my opinion, it's still good. The story is the only disappointment, I think the jokes are good. In the audience, everyone was laughing, from the beginning until the end. It's better then the average sequels. Loved it.

It's not the jokes that are bad, but the movie itself. It's like a gag parade from Sat1 or Pro7 where the child falls through the terrace glass with the three-wheeled bike. It's funny for a while but then it gets boring. The sequel should be measured to its predecessor, which was made by the same people. I can't believe they came up with this. The only really big laugh was the scene with the Korda parody (all in) and Moloch had some good lines, too but that's not enough.

Once again it's the case of 'When the first came out I was a kid and I loved it but when the second came I am an adult and I don't like it, why is it?' Well, maybe because I am not a child anymore. Watched the sequel with kids and they enjoyed it. THEY ARE the ones this movie is made for.
Of course the second one is not as good as the original. But if you watch the original with an adult eye you can see that was also mostly a simple series of gags (with a little better although confusing storyline) whcich just don't really stand the test of time. I'd say the first one was 8/10 and the second one 7/10; it's far from being bad.
Watch a Dargay/Nepp movie of the eighties again (like Az erdő kapitánya or Sárkány és papucs) and see Macskafogó 2. at least reaches their level (with better quality animation of course).

laci-5, I don't agree with you. Yes, I was a child indeed when the first part came out, I was just 5 then, but as I see it, the film "grew" together with me. I understood more and more words and jokes as I became older, and today, at almost 27, I still enjoy both the hilarious jokes AND the story itself. And I wouldn't compare Cat City to Erdő kapitánya or Sárkány és papucs, which both are clearly made mainly for a very young audience - CC has many references to other movies that only adults can understand. I think the biggest mistake of the sequel is that it tries to address too wide audiences. You cannot satisfy both today's "modern" children and the "children" from 20 years back, that already had their expectations towards this movie. I was very disappointed with the sequel, so I'll just forget about it and stick with the first part, which I still love :)

It was horrible! A class of children was also watched the movie, and nobody laughed. I watched with a friend of mine, but he actually fell asleep in it, and I just wanted it to end. (And my money back, but that was not an option.)
God... these idiot, childish wordjokes are wasn't even funny. The first movie was something (well, it was awesome), but in this crap, every character was dumbed down.
