America Ferrera's Spanish

Her entire role in this movie was in the language and I must say it was pretty damn good. I've seen interviews with her in Spanish and it seems like she can't really speak it that well, but in this movie it was perfect. I was pleasantly impressed. Does anyone know if she took Spanish lessons before making this movie?
