I liked the two-part ending to the second season and I'm hoping the show gets re-newed for a third. Clever use by IFC of their own Spirit Awards show as a location, and it was fun to see Joe Flaherty in a role that would have fit in nicely on SCTV. Plus, the cast regulars all seemed to be having fun.

then again, it took forever to bring back dinner for five with jon favreau, too.

it says 2006-2007 so me thinks they canned it. "Jackie Woodman" also got the boot. I emailed IFC and they responded a few weeks later, saying Jackie has no future scheduling. Too bad. I really loved watching these shows. I've kind of lost a little faith in IFC.

i have lost faith in ifc, too. i saw their uncut "news" show and found it so overated that i found my ambivilence toward indie movies growing larger by the hour.
ifc is so into it self that they have outgrown their core audience of chain smoking, coffee swilling, america hating homosexuals.

Though, it's probably for the best. Season 1 of The Business was a comedy gem that too few people have heard of. It was outrageous, fun, and quotable with great comic performances and editing. But then Season 2 (for some reason) was like a whole other (terrible) show. Worst of all, the sepia tone it was suddenly shot in. I hope that way was cheaper and was chosen because of money constraints, because if that was a creative decision, it was the worst one I have ever seen. The colorfulness of the first season was perfect. Either way, the story lines, acting, and basically every aspect of the production was a huge step down and really not that funny. The first season had a good ending. Why tarnish my memory of it with such a subpar follow up season (which did not end nearly as well)?

I LOVE the Indipendant Film Channel and was a HUGE fan of Bollywood Hero, The Business, Z Rock, Dinner For 5, The IT Crowd and the Henry Rollins Show!! I am not a smoker, drinker nor am I gay. Not a fan of the French either haha.

shareI watched the first season of both and loved them. I cant believe I found them at the Library. The price on the internet is so cheap I guess I'll have to purchase them but I am sad to hear the season two isnt worth finding/watching.
