Even by usual YA adaptation standards, Maximum Ride is exceptionally flat and soul-sucking. It’s so by-the-numbers, stale and without risk. Every single plot point is so derivative. I loved Godzilla and all those monster movies as a child, but struggle to make it through them if I even bother to watch them.
I just watched this movie for the first time last night. My gawd! I can't remember the last time I saw such a horrible movie, and I've seen some stinkers. I am usually pretty lenient with YA adaptations but this was just...It wouldn't even be suitable for Lifetime or CW. They should have kept this one in the can.
