Does the Produciton Value ruin this movie?

I have never seen, I love shows like the walking dead, BSG, Jericho, any Post Apocalyptic story.

My question is does the low production value of a small studio ruin the appeal/concept of this film?

Is it possible for a viewer to suspend their disbelief? Or does the production value ruin it?
