My list of movies I've only seen once and will only ever see once...

Because they made my skin crawl and made me want to shower in bleach afterwards:

- Monster (2003) - Charlize Theron's performance is one for the ages, though I will never watch it again.

- Changeling (2008) - Angelina Jolie put in a great performance.

- Silenced (2011) - the brutality of the abuse scenes was just about too much. I can't even imagine what it must've been like in reality, I don't even want to.

Ugh...

I would add Leaving Las Vegas.

Changeling was a great movie, but I agree... don't think I could ever watch it again. Same goes for An American Crime (2007).

WARNING: Do not see 'The Devil's Rejects'. Very disturbing and difficult to watch.

I would add Passion of the Christ

Hardest movie to watch ever!

reply

I second Passion of the Christ.

I'd also add:
Schindler's List
The Green Mile

I could see myself watching it again. Don't get me wrong, I prefer movies like "Something about Mary" to rewatch, but I've come across movies that are even lower on my list. To me, movies like Star Trek and Transformers, while good in their own right, I have no desire to watch them again (not into mind numbing action flicks) .. at least I can think a little bit with this movie. :)

Also the satisfaction that the corruption was dealt with nicely....

Requiem for a dream is a one time viewer, just utterly over the top/depressing.

reply

As some people already said I'll go with Requiem for a Dream and also The Passion of the Christ. Those two movies traumatized me!

reply

"The Deer Hunter"
"Requiem for a Dream"

I'm sure there are more if I rack my brains, but "House of Sand and Fog" almost makes the list.

Will have to check out Silenced. Thanks for the rec. Is this a list of MOST DISTURBING MOVIES then?
