how upsetting are the torture scenes??

They are not that bad.

You see a man getting punched several times, a woman being stripped down, peeing herself out of fear and having a fingernail removed, i believe (but you don't see that) and a woman/man getting dunked under water repeatedly plus a woman getting her stomach punched repeatedly

Actually, I had a hard time trying not to laugh at one scene, because it was just too much. It felt like I was watching Monty Python or something.

There were no gruesome, visceral scenes, if that's what's bothering you.
