Dor for the Oscars?

How come India did not nominate Dor for the Oscars in the foreign language category? Can anyone tell me which movie was nominated for the Oscars by India?

The movie was ignored because there was no hype and there are no stars in the movie. The movie that was sent was RANG DE BASANTI.

Dor was so much better than Rang de Basanti. How did people think that RDB it would appeal internationally? Then again, it was nominated for a BAFTA.

Agreed.
RDB was a good 'commercial' movie,but DOR was a class apart.
This movie should have been sent.

I agree- at the end of the day, despite its success, RDB wasn't a patch on Dor. It is unfortunate that good film-making goes unappreciated in India.

Rang de basanti wasn't nominated for Oscars. Had it been nominated, it would have surely qualified for the final five. It was much better than Dor. Dor lacked a lot of things. Lets leave that topic. But as far as the movie being nominated for Oscars was Paheli, which was no where close to both Rang de basanti and Dor!

@asjchy1 Paheli was an entry for the previous year, rang de basanti was an entry for the 2007 oscars, the same year which Dor should have had a look in.

A prison doesn't always have bars
