Looking for info

Has anyone seen this movie yet? I know it's just opened, and in only one theater in Montreal. I'm interested but wanted to hear what people had to say.

I just saw this film at the first annual Vermont Horror Film festival and the director was there to give a Q and A session after wards.

It was really fascinating to learn about this dark chapter of Canadian history. Typically when we hear about slavery in North America the tales always take place south of the Dixie line. And here we have a story that is rooted deep in both the histories of both sides.

All of the actors are new to the screen but I feel like they filled their roles very well. There was no point in time when I didn't believe in their performances.

A very interesting story about the scene with the bones. This is the story that the director told us after the film.

During production they found half of a dead deer on the highway. So he took the deer to his house, cleaned it up in the tub and pulled out the bones, then boiled them on the stove to sanitize and preserve them so he could use them as props in the film.

This was my very first time meeting the director of any film let alone an independant one and the little stories he told were what made my interest in film spark up again.

Thanks!

I've just read in the Lake Champlain Weekly that there's going to be a screening at the Historical Center in Stanbridge East on February 7. The director is supposed to be there again for a Q & A. I really look forward to it.
