Hey, I've been checking this up and I believe that the english translation of Mai Hime is 'Dance/Dancing Princesses', which would fit in with the story a bit. Does anyone know if this is the real translation, and if not, what is?

I think so. Hime is definetely "princess" (have heard it in many animes by now). Not sure about Mai though but I heard your translation as well.

You are correct. The original title is meant to be a word play. Taken literally it tells us who the real hero of the series is (Mai), however it also means 'Dancing Princess' which describes a HiME on the one hand, but especially Mai again, due to her battle moves. A very clever title indeed.
