So I understand how part 1 of the story and part 3 connect. But why does the lady tour guide character in part 2 have such a significant storyline when she doesn't really connect to the family presented in part 1?

is it show an outside source and how another family would operate with some sort of tragedy (i.e. her mother dying)?

Actually the tour guide woman is connected to the part 1 as well.
Cause those all character's are connected like real family embers.
So, if the tour guide woman didn't take care of her younger brother,
then the stories would be different in the part 3.
