Michael Jai White as Blade

Michael Jai White is a great martial artist.. been a fan since I seen him in the Mike Tyson story.. if you seen any of his movies the guy is good @ what he does (his fighting style), anyway.. they got stinky fingaz playin him.. no disrespect to the guy but I don't think the fans like how he portrays the character maybe some do.. but Wesley Snipes just had a way of taking out vampires that just fit.. also the way Snipes carried himself as the character through out the movies his attitude was so confident yet relentless, and I don't think Stinky Fingaz measures up for the blade role.. my opinion of course... If any of you seen Michael Jai White in Spawn I think he did outstanding playing an antihero type character.. even though that movie came out like 10 years ago he showed that dark yet "good guy" like character kinda like Blade (Wesley Snipes)portrays his role as blade... he would be PERFECT for the role for a possible Blade 4 or the series on spiketv.. since Snipes won't be doing the role anymore.. so I've heard.. anyway what do you guys think..???

if the TV series ever continues Sticky is the man to continue as Blade as far as I'm concerned. The only one area where he *may* be questionable is in the action sequences but then he's done a solid job(by TV standards) in that respect, improving as the show went on. He should definitely return as Blade If another movie is made in the next 5 to 10 years .

As for undisputed II Michael Jai white's character George "Ice man" chambers was beaten in the first movie by Wesley Snipes' character. Can't be much of a sequel.

To be honest I can't see him as Blade even though he may be a better fighter Michael Jai white doesn't have the presence of Kirk "sticky" Jones. Looking through Michael Jai white's filmography I've seen quite a few of his films and he's never made an impact on me .

As much as I liked Wesley Snipes as Blade, I would LOVE to see Michael Jai White give him a crack. I think they could have an awesome new series of movies with White based on the old '70s Tomb of Dracula comics. Plus, maybe they could get Blade's origin right this time. Blade did not become half-vampire/half-human when Deacon Frost bit his mother. He became half vampire when Morbius bit him in the early 90s.

If they continue with the Blade franchise (and i hope they do) I would also like to see Michael Jai White as Blade, though i don't think it will happen. They also have to make sure some sort of quality is maintained, so it doesn't become p iss poor like the Highlander franchise has become (even though i thought the new Highlander anime redeems the franchise a little)

Undisputed II, awesome fight scenes. Blood and Bone is pretty good too.

Couldn't agree with the OP more. Michael would have been great. I didn't care for the guy they got and I only watched 3 or 4 shows hoping it would grow on me. If Michael had been in the lead, I would have watched it to the end.

Personally I thought Sticky did pretty good, but I had to get used to him after seeing Wesley just being badass and a perfect fit for the role. Now as for Michael Jai White, he would've been great as Blade, in a way, I could see him doing very good and giving some great fight scenes. Sticky was good, but I would've LOVED to have seen MJW give the role a try. I wished there was a Blade Season 2 though, they probably would've gotten more ratings if it was Snipes or White.

I agree with the OP. MJW would have been great for the part in the TV show and if they reboot the movie franchise. I realize the part of Blade didn't require too much range as a actor but I've never been a fan of casting rappers in roles that should go to actors. IMO this guy Stinky Fingaz like most rappers can't act. I could ever get into the series because of him.

i think that mike is probably too big for playing blade.

there is a certain visuality that the hero cant be too large, then the bad guys wont be intimidating (comparison blade 2 with ron pearlman who looked bigger than blade)

but i agree,it would be very awesome :)
since mike can both act and knows how to coreograph action scenes.
but maybe its ten years too late,if he had been blade instead right after doing spawn, then ..
