No date yet. It very well could end up on dvd assuming the ratings were good enough.
Sure hope they release it on DVD... just saw the movie this afternoon and had a blast.

I'm pretty sure that it will be released on DVD. Assuming that they don't add any extras, the cost to manufacture a DVD is less than a dollar each. And they already have all the necessary artwork and text on the movie's website. They merely need to print it on paper for the DVD insert.
Until then, I recorded it on DVD with the commercials removed so it's sort of like having the real thing. Heck, I can print out the webpage and make a bootleg copy! I haven't watched it though. My girlfriend is out of town and she made me promise to watch it together.
This is a funny time for the dvd making business. While hugely popular tv shows are still put on dvd, some less popular shows have cancelled dvd production after releasing 1 or 2 seasons. Some obscure shows are only available as purchaced downloads from itunes, and there is talk of having stores that burn dvds one at a time on request. It might be more cost efficient to make dvds on demand rather than printing and packaging 50,000 at a time.
