The scenes in which she was being given a hard time by Carmen and the scene where her brother watched her performance and stormed out all screamed Coyote Ugly to me.
But the plot involving her guilt over her father's death reminded me of Save the Last Dance and the final audition (in which she combined hip hop and ballet) and had Russ waiting for her in the wings was practically identical to STLD as well.
