What was Tom's issue with Jesus?

Davey says grace and Tom runs out of the room. That was never explained.

The movie was "good", in that the acting was excellent and I cared what happened to the characters, but there were so many things that would never happen. I mean, a 10-year-old boy who ran away from foster care would be the subject of an Amber Alert, not just Xeroxed flyers.

My take on the dinner scene was Tom was angry at God because Megan had contracted cancer two times before and now was dying from it.

And, the Amber Alert is used only if it is believed the child is in extreme and immediate danger. Since David ran away and was not abducted, there was no Amber Alert issued.
