Cam Gigandet is a terrible actor...

and horribly miscast as Hicks, they needed someone way older and grittier
for the role to make it believable, whenever this guy was on screen I cringed. Kind of like in Pandorum, haha

I agree he was too "pretty boy"-ish for the role and isn't much of an actor, but it wouldn't have made much sense if he were "way older" as he was Lucy's boyfriend.

reply

I agree as well his range of emotions was that of a pet rock.

He was terrible...I could actually see a younger actor playing the role...I think his dialogue would have fit a character that was much younger. OMG he was so bad...

I could watch Paul Bettany in anything though...

reply

You guys are dumb as rocks. His character was the secret boyfriend of the girl lucy...who was a teen-ager. How old should he be you child molestors?

reply

The dude already looked freakin old as it was. Lucy was a teen, but how old was Hicks supposed to be? Late 20s? That's still child molester material. They should've got someone that looked like a teenager, and SOUNDED like a teenager. Lily Collins, even though older than a teen, looks and sounds legit. Cam is just a couple years younger than me, and doesn't look like a teenager at ALL. I saw this movie with my little sister and she said, "Why in the hell is that guy going out with the little girl? He looks like he could be her uncle!".

reply

Indeed, YOU should have been cast, am I right ? Because, you'd do MUCH better ! :)

reply

There's just something about him, but whenever he comes onto the screen I want to smash his face in with a mallet... I kept waiting for him to die, but I was disappointed.

i dont think even MR ROBERT DE NIRO could have saved this plot and dialogue-challenged film.

in any event MR GIGANDET is a league above the lead actor in this excrement of a film

They had a vampire from "True Blood" (Stephen Moyer), so maybe they just wanted one from "Twilight" too.

He did nothing to help this movie that's for sure.

reply

I didn't have a problem with his age, but there is something about him I cannot put my finger on. He's just not likable as an actor.

reply

perhaps the fact that he's made out of wood?

LOL!

I just saw this last night and besides some plot questions I kept wondering who was that bad actor playing Hicks?! After awhile though i couldn't tell if it was him or his dialogue, so, It's a toss-up for me.

I later noticed he was in "Pandorum" and I know I loved that movie, with him, Ben Foster and Dennis Quaid as the leads, so perhaps it's the material. Apocalyptic wild west dialogue might be hard to deliver if poorly written.

He didn't have much to work with, the role was almost useless. Other than the fact that he was the boyfriend of the daughter of the main character he didn't really need to in the movie at all.

Did anyone else notice that pretty much the entire cast is good looking? Like a little too good looking? Even the couple with the baby that got attacked by the vampire looked to be model material...

Cam Gigandet plays his role well and fully. His girlfriend is kidnapped and he is facing an unknown destructive force. So is very subdued, dejected, and insecure.
Cam has been filming movies back to back. He has 5 upcoming movies. And he wins many awards. Please stop attacking him just because you are an ignorant hater.

reply

I think you are the ignorant one here, not everyone else...If you think he played his role well and fully, then you don't know the first thing about acting.

reply

Oh-my-God-Becky! I can't imagine anyone other than a preteen girl using the word "hater".

Lighten up, this is what discussion forums are all about. Mature ones anyway.
