There are people out there, yes PEOPLE who have feelings and a conscience dying out there, there are children starving to death and you're crying over a lousy dog? Shame on you.

To a real dog lover the dog is like a child & loved like one, & since when did dogs not have feelings or a conscience? People can look after themselves as all we do is kill each other anyway. Sometimes when I see the atrocities we do to our fellow human beings it makes me ashamed to be one.

To the OP- People have choices, and they can [typically] speak for themselves.. animals can't, and I believe that's why people feel more sorry for a helpless animal than they do for a helpless person.

Sometimes I feel ashamed to be a human being too. My son and I have been studying the Holocaust. There were hundreds of thousands of people who did sadistic, evil, cruel things to other people. I've never heard of a dog or any other animal (besides humans) who kills out of hate - they only kill to live or protect themselves.

The only link I made between the Holocaust and dogs and other animals is that humans are the only animals who are evil. Animals don't go around being prejudiced and killing other animals because they want a pure race. You are the idiot if you didn't understand what I was saying. Good God!
And I am raising my son to respect ALL life, I am nurturing his empathy that he inhereted from me and he loves people and animals. Again I must ask what is wrong with caring about people AND animals?? And there is nothing wrong with spoiling pets either - they are only with us for a short time. You see dogs as a possession whereas I see dogs as my other children.
I don't know you - you don't know me - but I do know that you have way too much time on your hands. Like I said you really need to get a job and get out of the house more. You can see that I post very little on these boards - I am sitting here at my nice government job taking a break arguing with someone who is on the Marley and Me boards who didn't even enjoy the movie!
