What's with the flannel shirts?

Did anyone else notice the ridiculous number of flannel shirts on Python's thugs? Basically if the character didn't have a name, they either wore camouflage or one of 5 different colors of flannel shirt.

I actually thought this movie was made much earlier than it was until I came to IMDB to read up on it. The special effects and camera work were so outdated that I was guessing early 90s. For some reason, it reminds me a little of the camera work in Texas Walker Ranger.
