Really Good Movie

As a person who lived in Brooklyn during the blackouts I must say that this movie did justice to the story of what was going on around the city. The only thing missing was it showing how people of other parts of brooklyn got affected.

Also the music used in the movie was really good, maybe a soundtrack should be created or at least a list of the songs used in the movie. It is real hard for me to pin down which artists were used for the tracks now that there are similar voices running around for all those genres.

I was wondering how people from Brookyln felt about this portrayal. I guess they didn't show what happened in different parts of Brooklyn because the news covered that at the time. Remember on the movie how they would listen to the radio and different pople were calling up and saying things like "we're really pulling together" and "people are being really supportive." I remember when it happened I didn't hear anything about what happened in the ghetto except afterwards I heard about some of the violence and looting, they sure didn't tell it like this movie did. But you know how that is.

I also echo all the reports in this thread; What a terrific movie. So often it seems that one of things lacking in movies is its timing / pacing. This movie nailed it perfectly! I never got bored, the story flowed very smoothly, and I really felt as if I was actually there with them. Kudos to the director for a fine job. I will not soon forget this story, which is a mark of a good filmmaker.

Yea I finally saw this. It was really good. LOL @ Marlo stabbed Wallace. I was thinking the same thing, lol. This movie was good.

just finished watching this movie, it was amazing, story flowed so well, and the characters were real to life, also the fact that the story is based around a real event (the blackout) and that the things happening in this film were probably happening in some parts of NY just made me love the film even more, I hate when things are watered down or sexed up, but this was just as it was! Insightful...

PS,... Marlo Stabbed Wallace ("What happen to wallace String" LOOOL) I thought that, but you could see something bad was gonna happen to Dude, I was yelling at dude, YO, stay in Homes! I know from when he stepped out side, it was gonna be over, damn shame...

oh and LOOOOOOOL! at the dude that come home and said he caught the train! bitch ass! lol

Yea, incredible movie. A showcase of some phenomenal actors! I need this on DVD. I was in Detroit during the blackouts and it felt like forever for officials to restore our power.
