Screen Saver movie - nothing happens

I can't believe some critics are putting "The Soloist" on their top 10 lists of films for 2009. This was one of the WORST movies of the year. The acting was boring and there was nothing interesting or funny about this movie. Lots of close ups of birds flying around and landscape/cityscape wide shots where NOTHING HAPPENS or the screen goes black and there's red squiggly lines like the Windows Screen Saver that goes on for about 7 minutes while music is playing. Did they have to fill up time or what? Lots of still shots where NOTHING is happening. PBS documentaries have more action than this film.
